Frequently Asked Questions

What will I see at a Preview Day?

Preview Days begin with an introduction from the Head of School and a short talk about the school's Christ-centered classical mission and vision. We then break up into groups allowing each group to take a more customized school tour. Tours will drop in on relevant classes to observe presentations that provide parents with an idea of what students are learning in the classroom. During the tours, parents are encouraged to ask questions of their guides to learn more about Stonehaven.

What will I see on an individual tour?

We can cater school tours to the interests and desires of each prospective family. Generally, tours will visit the classrooms related to the child's "rising" grade level. Tour of the music room, art room, cafeteria, playground, and sanctuary. We also like to sit down with prospective families at the end and address any and all questions from the parents.

Is a school visit required for admissions?

We believe that visiting the school is the best way to get a clear picture of who we are and how we educate our students. Exceptions are made for families who are relocating from other areas and are not able to visit in advance.

How long is a Preview Day?

Prospective parents usually spend a minimum of 60 minutes and up to 90 minutes at Preview Days.

How long is an individual tour?

Individual tours typically last between 45 and 60 minutes.

Can I bring my kids to a Preview Day or a tour?

Students are welcome to visit Stonehaven. However, both events are geared towards parents. We offer shadow days for students to get a better picture of a day at Stonehaven. Contact admissions@stonehavenschool.org if you would like to schedule a shadow day.
